Arx Poetica

I am a student of art. My fields of interest include film, graphic design, photography, theater, and literature.

The world is in the middle of a renaissance. The information age has opened doors of possibility only dreamed of in the past. Ralph's goal is to create places and develop ideologies that further the progress of humanity throughout the world. His desire to design, and create spaces is fueled by the opportunity to inspire those who will experience them. He wants to focus on developing ideas based on scientific models and implement them by creating positively influential spaces. Places where scientific discoveries happen, places where people fall in love, places where great organizations are created, and causes are identified and championed. Ralph intents is to play a roll in the progression of humanity. In addition to being a part of the execution of the individual structures, He seeks involvement in fabricating and exploring the ideas that define an epic, will inspire practitioners, and drive their designs in a new generation. He hopes to be able to accomplish these things in chorus with those around him, embracing the strength of collaboration.

I'm in Australia, and into creative things, at the moment its screenplays, which involves a fair bit of study, research and thought but seems to me a very exciting form of art. I attended Canberra school of art many years ago, and was into oil painting, but especially like pencil drawing. Also like playing music, being another field of expression, so can play drums a bit and have been in some bands. At the moment trying to learn guitar:( My dad and I made some guitars a few years ago for my son and brother (dad did the hard bits I just worked on design and the painting of them) so got myself one made as well, which I've just fitted better pickups to. Also designed and made patterns for castings and made a few carbon fibre and f/glass parts and lots of other fabrications etc for motorcycles. All being spare time sorts of persuits beeing under the necessity to also work which is ok but eats into too much precious time.

I am a writer of poetry, lyrics and short stories for over ten years. I am a drummer of eleven years, and am mostly self taught. I can compose beautiful musical compositions in my mind, and am currrently saving to purchase music software to help get started with some productions. I want to see a major positive renaissance in the LDS music scene, and am working to be a part of that. I am heading up a music group called Shifless Core, and am excited about our prospects.

I like exploring with cameras to find photographs. Noticing aesthetic details inherently present in nature and man-made objects, and sharing the fascinating uniqueness of people through portraiture are some of the ways I like to see.

I am a teacher, I love it. I also enjoy creating. I like crafts, ie I have made bedding, wall art, shirts, etc. just for fun. I enjoy art. I studied art history in college. I am a lover of art.

Currently polishing off my Master of Arts degree in media / audio production at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Texas at Austin. My primary artistic interests lie in radio documentary work, but I also toy with experimental sound and music created from atypical sources (i.e. percussion from the flipping pages of a book).

I've written over a dozen short stories, two one act plays, one feature length screenplay, one novel, and a bunch of other stuff. I've made several short films. I also like creating visual art (drawings, computer graphics, photography, etc.) I live in Utah. Love art, culture and history. I hope to one day make theatrical movies and published novels for a living.

I'm an outdoorsy gal who is a geologist by day, photographer and artist by night.
